Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-09
1. Summary
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) defines what activities and content are allowed on QuantumVPS. It applies to every customer, including any third party the customer allows to use the service. Violations may result in suspension or termination without refund.
2. Prohibited content and activity
You may not use QuantumVPS for:
- Illegal material: content violating applicable laws in your jurisdiction or where the server is hosted (Germany by default in our case).
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): zero tolerance. Any such material will be reported to authorities.
- Phishing and fraud: pages impersonating brands, banks, exchanges, etc. to steal credentials.
- Malware distribution: hosting viruses, ransomware, trojans, exploit kits, RATs.
- Command & Control (C2) for botnets, miners installed on compromised machines, etc.
- Spam: bulk unsolicited email (CAN-SPAM, GDPR ePrivacy).
- Copyrighted material without license or rights holder authorization (DMCA).
- Hate speech and incitement to violence or discrimination against individuals or groups.
- Impersonation of QuantumVPS or any other brand.
3. Fair use of resources
Each plan has allocated resources (CPU, RAM, disk, bandwidth). Sustained 100% usage over long periods can affect other customers on shared hypervisors, and we reserve the right to ask you to move to a higher plan or a dedicated server.
- CPU: occasional 100% bursts are fine; sustained use above 80% for more than several hours may be flagged for review.
- Cryptocurrency mining: not allowed on shared-CPU plans. Allowed on dedicated servers.
- Traffic: included bandwidth is specified per plan. Overages may be billed or rate-limited.
4. Network abuse
- Originating DDoS attacks, mass port scans, brute force against third-party services.
- Forging source IPs, MAC spoofing.
- Running open DNS resolvers, NTP/Memcached/SSDP amplifiers, open proxies without authentication.
- Running TOR exit nodes is allowed with prior notice and with non-exit-only `socks/obfs/bridge` by default.
5. Reporting abuse
If you detect abuse originating from our network, report it to abuse@quantumvps.tech. Include:
- Full source IP.
- Timestamp with timezone.
- Logs / headers proving the activity.
We respond to every abuse report within 24 business hours.
6. Consequences
Depending on severity and whether it's a first occurrence:
- Warning: email notification with a deadline to remediate.
- Suspension: the VPS is powered off until you confirm remediation.
- Termination without refund: for severe or repeat abuse.
For CSAM and originating DDoS, the response is immediate termination without prior notice.
7. Cooperation with authorities
We cooperate with law enforcement under a valid court order issued in our jurisdiction or with recognized jurisdiction. When legally permitted, we notify the affected customer so they can exercise their defense rights.
